Blades

Description

I have a selection of blades available for my marking gauges so you can have a few spares sharpened and ready to go. The skewed and spear point blades are 120 x 6 x 1.6mm and made from high carbon steel hardened to around 62rc and feature a hand etched Lowfat Roubo logo. The skewed angle is 30° left or right with a bevel of 20°. They have been designed to be able to fit into the Lie-Nielsen honing guide with 30° jaws. These blades also make excellent marking knives. The single bevel makes them perfect for transferring dovetails and laying out lines from a straight edge.

The V2 pin style marking gauge has a 45 x 2mm dia HSS blade ground to a point. HSS is a tough material that cannot be filed so you will need to use a grinder, diamond stone or similar abrasive to keep it sharp.
